BaseCamp XL Expedition Pulk Sled
- Extended Hull & Increased Volume: Extra length handles larger, bulkier expedition setups and heavy gear configurations with ease.
- Uncompromising Stability & Tracking: Low-center-of-gravity XLPE hull stays locked on line across steep side-hills and hardpack without fishtailing or tipping.
- Overbuilt & Field-Serviceable: Reinforced stress points, 4130 chromoly hardware, and modular components ensure long-term reliability on remote, multi-day routes.
- Zero-Interference Pole Geometry: Side-mounted poles keep rigid linkages completely clear of your hips and legs for an uninhibited, natural stride while skiing or snowshoeing.
- Rapid 2-Buckle Duffel Transition: The extended-capacity main load detaches in seconds via two heavy-duty buckles, keeping gear organized and speeding up camp setup.
- Integrated Backpack Carry: Ergonomic shoulder straps transform the sled into a pack instantly for river crossings, pressure ridge portages, and transit logistics.

XLPE Sled Hull
Sled Hull Geometry
The sled hull was designed with advanced stability and traction. Engineered for maximum glide on flat and grip on sidehills and turns.
Seamless Hull Integrity
Our process yields a completely uniform wall profile, eliminating the stretched thin spots and failure points common in thermoformed hulls.
Chromoly Steel Poles
Built from high-grade 4130 chromoly steel. They weigh slightly more than aluminum alternatives, but the added strength and dependability are well worth it. If a pole is bent in the field, it can often be bent back into shape rather than failing outright.
Welded
Welded for a durable, dependable connection designed for years of hard use. The same class of steel is commonly used in roll cages and motorcycle frames.
Bent
The bend creates a yoke style pole system that improves sled handling, steering, and control while keeping the load centered behind the user.
Powder Coated
Our poles are finished with a baked-on powder coating for excellent resistance to chips, abrasion, and corrosion far more durable than ordinary paint.
